Battery Safety Evaluation Device (Coin Cell DSC)
Measure the completed coin cell as it is. Visualize the battery's heat generation behavior and safety.
The Coin Cell DSC is a thermal analysis device specialized for the safety evaluation of lithium-ion batteries and all-solid-state batteries. While typical DSC measurements focus on evaluating materials in isolation, the Coin Cell DSC allows for measurements to be taken directly on assembled coin cells without disassembly. This enables the assessment of heat generation behavior and thermal stability while maintaining the actual cell structure, allowing for data acquisition that is closer to real-use environments. It is utilized for evaluating thermal reactions and heat generation onset temperatures due to interactions between positive electrode materials, negative electrode materials, and electrolytes, as well as for analyzing thermal runaway risks. It supports a wide range of applications from battery material development, cell design, safety verification, to quality assessment. This solution contributes to reducing the time for research and development of next-generation batteries and their market introduction, as well as improving safety.
